One of my family’s favorite things at Walt Disney World is the food. Can you blame us? We are a large group of foodies. In fact, it annoyed my husband to no end when we would discuss our next meal, at our current meal. Food is a big deal for us. So, when we tried Boma- Flavors of Africa you can be assured we took it seriously. One of the biggest draws for me was the resort location. Boma is located inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jambo House. When I first booked our reservation, I confused it with Sanaa; thinking we would get to see animals; do not make the same mistake. Despite my confusion, Boma quickly became our favorite breakfast spot. The resort is beautiful. As with all Disney resorts, you feel as if you have stepped into a whole new world.

Thatched roofs, African patterns and music all come together to immerse you into a place of wonder. Breakfast consisted of your average American egg dishes, omelets, cheese plates, corned beef hash, hand-carved turkey, brisket, and the much sought-after Mickey waffles. There was something for everyone at Boma.

The breakfast menu would not be complete without the passion fruit, orange and guava juice blend and the amazing Kenyan coffee. This is a buffet, but it took my family a few hours to eat. It was our last day and the 2-year-old would not wake up.

As with all buffets, children under 3 eat free. For my family of 4, it cost around $100 including tip. Do not let the price sway you, we were full for the majority of the day. My kids still rave over the juice and when we booked our next visit this was first on our list for reservations. If you are looking for a great family-friendly location without the hustle and bustle of characters, Boma is the spot for you. If you are an adventurous eater you will be happy and if your husband is like mine, the picky eaters will be happy too. This was my picky eaters’ favorite spot. What are some of your favorite places to share a family meal on the property?
