According to multiple sources, Yoda is set to appear in future episodes of the Mandalorian and may show up as early as season 2. Details of his appearance are vague at this time, but it would be great to see him show up as a force ghost to possibly mentor “the Child,” more popularly known as “baby Yoda.”
Just to be clear, there’s no actual known connection between “baby Yoda” and Yoda, other than them being from the same species. The events of the Mandalorian take place after The Return of the Jedi, which means that Yoda is already dead at the point in time where The Mandalorian takes place. Since LucasFilms is no stranger to using “force ghosts;” former Jedi with the ability to project themselves after their deaths, and Yoda has appeared as a force ghost in multiple Star Wars movies, it’s highly likely that he’ll appear to either Mando or baby Yoda in this state.
According to the same sources, LucsasFilms is also interested in having Han Solo make a cameo, possibly in season 2 or 3. Since the events of the Mandalorian take place after The Return of the Jedi but before The Force Awakens, Han Solo hasn’t died yet and could make a great addition to the show. Since Han Solo has had interactions with Boba Fett before, who is also a Mandalorian, it makes sense that he could also have interactions with Din Djarin, the main character in The Mandalorian on Disney+.
Fans have speculated that additional characters, like Luke Skywalker or Darth Maul, will make cameos in the future however there has been no word from LucasFilms about whether this is true or not. We will make sure to keep you updated with any new information as it becomes available.
